Just couple of days back, Micromax launched its Canvas Power A96 smartphone with a 4000 mAh battery.
Gionee has introduced a new smartphone, called Gionee M2, with a 4200 mAh battery to compete with the freshly launched Micromax Canvas Power. Gionee M2 has been launched at Rs 10,999 which is about a grand higher than the Micromax Canvas Power handset's price of Rs 9,900.
Gionee M2 comes with a 5-inch display that offers 854x480 pixel resolution which is not the crispest resolution offering display in the said price range. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 based mobile chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz. This mobile chipset also integrates Mali 400MP GPU for decent graphics support. Gionee has paired this mobile chipset with 1 GB RAM which makes it a decent budget level configuration - at least on the paper.

Gionee M2 smartphone directly competes with the recently launched Micromax Canvas Power.
