Samsung has started releasing Android 4.4.2 Kitkat to unlocked Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 handsets in the UK.
Android 4.4.2 Kitkat is only available for owners of unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 handsets to download over the air (OTA) now. The update weighs in at around 300-400MB in size, and delivers several updates to th
e two handsets.
The
update features, translucent notification bars, cleaner texts and
application icons, and the Dialer seeing a lick of paint. Some apps have
been revamped too, with Google Hangouts now combining hangout conversations,
texts and MMS, while the built-in music player has added support for
lockscreen album art, and saying "OK Google" will now activate voice
control on the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 handsets.
The biggest change that users will notice is that Android 4.4.2 Kitkat uses less memory than before, which should make for improvements in multitasking and battery life.

smartphone and tablet market, despite having appeared on the Nexus 5
almost six months ago.
