Canon has announced the PowerShot G7 X, the company's first compact
to feature a 1"-type sensor. It boasts a seemingly familiar 20.2MP BSI
CMOS chip, coupled with a DIGIC 6 processor and a 24-100mm equivalent
F1.8-2.8 lens. The G7 X is also equipped with a touchscreen, 31-point AF
system, 6.5 fps continuous shooting, and built-in Wi-Fi with NFC.
The camera is capable of 1080/60p video recording and provides a
built-in ND filter. It lacks a built-in viewfinder but does offer a
tilting 3" 1040k-dot touch-sensitive LCD which rotates upward by 180
degrees. Also included is a user-customizable control ring around the
lens. The G7X will be available in October for $699.99.
