Fujifilm is to release a new version of its Raw File Converter EX at the end of the month. The update will bring the film simulation modes that the company uses in its X-series cameras to the Silkypix-based desktop software package. Initially, the new feature will be available for files shot with X-T1, X-A2, X100T, X30 and XQ2 cameras, but Fujifilm has said that other models will be included in a later update.
Fujifilm has also announced that it will make available a plug-in that will allow USB tethered shooting and exposure control for X-T1 owners who use Lightroom. Version 5.7 is required to use the plug-in, as is Fujifilm's own HS-V5 tethered shooting application that was announced in November last year. HS-V5 in turn requires X-T1 users have firmware v3.0 installed.
The new version of Raw File Converter will be available for download from 26th February 2015, and will be free. The Lightroom plug-in will be made available at the same time. For more information visit the Fujifilm website page for Raw File Converter EX2.0 and the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom plug-in.
