Bag manufacturer Lowepro has introduced a pair of new backpacks to
its Fastpack range, featuring added weather-proofing and a compartment
that supports a laptop or tablet. The Fastpack BP 150 AW ll and BP 250
AW ll are basically the same bag in two sizes, and each is divided into
three sections that allow storage of camera equipment as well as other
everyday items for photographers on the move.
The lower front compartment of the BP 150 AW ll unzips to accommodate
a mid-range DSLR (the company uses the Nikon D7100 as an example) with a
premium f/2.8 standard zoom attached, and has space for up to two more
lenses, or a lens and a flash unit. The rear space fits an 11-inch
laptop and there is also room for a tablet.
The larger of the two bags, the BP 250 AW ll can hold a pro-sized
DSLR, such as a Nikon D810 with a lens as big as a 70-200mm f/2.8. Two
to three additional lenses or flash units can be housed in the main
camera section, while a zipper on the back of the bag reveals a
compartment for a 15-inch laptop.
Both bags include Lowepro’s All Weather AW Cover, which is basically a
built-in raincoat that can be untucked and pulled over the bag in a
rain shower. The tablet sections feature what Lowepro calls CradleFit
padding that grips and suspends the tablet so that it remains protected
in the event of a drop. Using compression straps the bags are designed
to also attach to the handles of rolling luggage, and both can support a
tripod via straps and a mesh pocket.
The Fastpack BP 150 AW ll will cost £96, while the BP 250 AW ll will be priced £120. For more information visit the Lowepro website.
