The Helium Core is a chassis for the iPhone that is currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter.
It is made from durable 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with an
anodized finish and easily accommodates attachment lenses, video lights,
flashes, microphones or other accessories to the device. There are
several tripod mounts, allowing for easy attachment to all types of
camera supports. In addition, a grip makes the iPhone more comfortable
to hold for extended periods of time when used as a camera. The
integrated lens mount fits 37mm threaded lenses or other lenses with
adapters and the axis of the main tripod mount is aligned with the
center of the lens. Of course, users still have access to the iPhone
display, buttons and ports.

The idea is to help turning the iPhone into a filmmaking or mobile
journalism rig, a live broadcasting setup, or a vlogging tool. The
Helium Core comes in two sizes for either the iPhone 6/6s or the 6/6s
Plus. We've seen similar products before but with its aluminum shell and
abundance of mounting and attachment options the Helium Core looks like
the one most suited to professionals. You can secure one now by
pledging from $93 on the Helium core Kickstarter page where you'll also find more information and a video.
