Topping off its Photokina 2014 announcements, Panasonic announces two
lenses designed to fit the dimensions of the GM-series cameras. The
Lumix G Vario 35-100mm F4.0-5.6 ASPH Mega O.I.S. is a truly compact
telephoto zoom covering a range equivalent to 70-200mm. Also announced
is the 14mm F2.5 II ASPH, a version of an existing lens but with revised
graphics (equivalent to 28mm). The 14mm prime offers a stepping motor
for quieter focus, and the 35-100mm zoom uses Panasonic's Mega O.I.S.
optical image stabilization. Each lens will retail for $399.

New Micro Four Thirds Digital Interchangeable Telephoto Zoom Lens LUMIX G VARIO 35-100mm / F4.0-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. (H-FS35100)
Featuring Ultra Compact Size in Stylish Design with a Retractable Structure
NEWARK, NJ (September 15, 2014) - Panasonic is proud
to introduce a new digital interchangeable telephoto zoom lens, the
LUMIX G VARIO 35-100mm / F4.0-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. (H-FS35100) based
on the Micro Four Thirds system standard. Achieving high picture
quality, the new LUMIX G VARIO 35-100mm / F4.0-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S.
designed in stunningly compact metallic profile with retractable
structure despite a lens with this versatile focal distance of 35-100 mm
(Equivalent to 70-200 mm on a 35mm camera). It is useful in shooting
images including portrait or close-ups with impressively defocused
background taking advantage of its high portability. The lens will be
available in mid November at www.shop.panasonic.com and valued channel
partners.
Comprised of 12 lenses in 9 groups, the lens system realizes uniform
descriptiveness with its excellent contrast from the center to the
corners, equal brightness at entire zoom range and high resolution.
Notably, 2 ED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses minimize chromatic
aberration. An aspherical lens helps achieve high optical performance
while allowing dramatic downsizing of the lens unit.
The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) effectively compensates
for vibration making it easy to capture images clearly even if they are
shot with small aperture.
It incorporates a superior inner focus system which enables excellent
resolution and contrast from full life-size magnification to infinity.
The inclusion of stepping motor makes the focusing action smooth and
silent for use in both photo and video recording. When mounted on the
Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) cameras of LUMIX G, users can take
advantage of the high-speed, high-precision Contrast AF system.
Seven blades give the aperture a rounded shape that produces an
attractively smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger
aperture settings. The new LUMIX G VARIO 35-100mm / F4.0-5.6 ASPH. /
MEGA O.I.S. lens also features a highly reliable metal mount, and uses
multi-coated lens elements that minimize ghosts and flare to further
enhance its optical performance.
The LUMIX G VARIO 35-100mm / F4.0-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. in either
silver or black color matches the LUMIX Digital Single Lens Mirrorless
(DSLM) cameras, especially the new DMC-GM5 or DMC-GM1.

Press Release:
New Micro Four Thirds Digital Interchangeable Single Focal Length Lens LUMIX G 14mm / F2.5 II ASPH. (H-H014A)
Featuring Compact, High Quality Design for Stylish GM Series Cameras
NEWARK, NJ (September 15, 2014) - Panasonic is proud
to announce a new digital interchangeable single focal length lens, the
LUMIX G 14mm / F2.5 II ASPH. (H-H014A) based on the Micro Four Thirds
system standard. Offered in black and silver, the new LUMIX G 14mm /
F2.5 II ASPH. matches the GM series of LUMIX Digital Single Lens
Mirrorless (DSLM) cameras – the new DMC-GM5 or DMC-GM1. The lens will be
available at www.shop.panasonic.com and valued channel partners in mid
November.
The LUMIX G 14mm / F2.5 II ASPH. features a 14mm (35mm camera
equivalent: 28mm) wide angle and F2.5 high speed with sharp, high
contrast image rendering. Taking advantage of the wide angle of view and
deep depth of field, the compact LUMIX G 14mm / F2.5 II ASPH. offers
excellent performance for shooting not only landscapes but also general
photography.
Comprised of 6 lenses in 5 groups including 3 aspherical lenses, the
lens system achieves both compactness with short overall length of
apprpx.20.5mm and high optical performance. It also excels in shooting
subjects with components of straight line including architecture thanks
to the minimized distortion. It incorporates a superior inner focus
system which enables excellent resolution and contrast from full
life-size magnification to infinity. The inclusion of a stepping motor
makes the focusing action smooth and silent for use in both photo and
video recording to be classified as a LUMIX HD Lens. When mounted on the
Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) cameras of LUMIX G, users can
take advantage of the high-speed, high-precision Contrast AF system.
Seven blades give the aperture a rounded shape that produces an
attractively smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger
aperture settings. Highly reliable metal mount assures durability for
active use, and uses multi-coated lens elements that minimize ghosts and
flare to further enhance its shooting performance.
